NOTICE OF MEETING
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cherokee County
Commissioners= Court will meet in Regular Session at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010
at its regular meeting place in the County Courtroom in the County Courthouse in the City of Rusk,
Texas, for the purpose of:
1. Call to Order.
2. Invocation.
3. Consider laying utility lines in each precinct.
4. Consider approval of assistance with City of Rusk
and Rusk State Hospital to construct gun range on Rusk State Hospital property
off
FM 768.
5. Consider taking bids for new pickup truck for the
Sheriff Department.
6. Public Hearing and consider approval for setting speed
limit 25 mph on CR 4217 in Precinct No. 4.
7. Consider approval on assignment of Lease
between Barry Bomer and the Klein Family Trust.
8. Consider approval to accept vehicle donation from JEDCO and
REDCO. (Airport Courtesy Car)
9. Consider acceptance and approval of the City of
Jacksonville petition filed with the voter registrar.
10. Consider approval
of Order to Call Special Election for “The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise
consumption only” and “The legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by
food and beverage certificate holders only” within the City of
Jacksonville.
11. Consider approval
of contract for Election Services for the May 8, 2010 General Election between
City of Rusk and Cherokee County.
12. Discussion on the
purchase of seal coat equipment for one or more precincts.
13. Consider bids for new
pickup for Precinct No. 3. Bids were opened on February 18, 2010.
14. Consider approval for Cherokee
County to certify the dollar amount on a county employee for buy back retirement.
15. Discussion on
Cherokee County Sub Division Regulations pertaining to commercial property in
platted residential areas.
16. Consider approval for setting speed
limit 40 mph on CR 3605 in Precinct No. 3. Public hearing set for March 8,
2010.
17. Consider request for adopting an
Animal Control Ordinance in Cherokee County .
18. Consider request for approval of
implementing a County Driveway Permit requirement for development of a commercial or
residential driveway on a county road.
19. Consider the purchase of software,
equipment, training for an inventory system that allows the use of bar codes to track
inventory.
20. Consider approval of agreement with Area
Health Education Center(AHEC) for training of community Health Workers
(CHW).
21. Consider review and approve change orders
for remodeling of new Tax Office at 302 West Commerce.
22. Consider withdrawal of bid and accept an
alternative bid for the new roof at the Jacksonville Tax Office at 302 West Commerce.
23. Consider approval of the following consent agenda:
23.1 Approval of BASS Subdivision No. 1 – plat
only, no roads.
23.2 Authorizing the payment of the bills.
