NOTICE OF MEETING
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cherokee County
Commissioners' Court will meet in Regular Session at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August
24, 2009 at its regular meeting place in the County Courtroom in the County Courthouse in the
City of Rusk, Texas, for the purpose of:
1. Call to Order.
2. Invocation.
3. Consider laying utility lines in each
precinct.
4. Consider approval of Resolution for
Cherokee County Tactical Response Program grant for Sheriff Department.
5. Consider appointment of Election Judges
& Alternate Judges for the November, 2009 General Election .
6. Consider holding a public hearing on a
proposal of setting tax rate for Fiscal Year 2009-2010.
7. Consider approval of 2009 Tax Roll
Items as follows:
Certified Values for
Cherokee County, Effective Tax Rate, Excess Debt Collections 2008, Collection Rate
for 2009 Taxes at 100%, Set Discounts for 2009 Taxes, and Presentation of Certificate of
Railroad Rolling Stock Value.
8. Consider approval of SB 1685 and
Government Code, Section 51.305 to incur a records archive fee of $5.00 to preserve and restore
District Court Records in District Clerk Office.
9. Consider bids for seal coat work in
Precinct 1, 2, and 4. Bids were opened on August 20, 2009.
10. Consider approval of budget amendments for Extension
Office.
11. Consider approval of one or more precincts to attempt
to obtain TIGER Grant thru Federal Government stimulus funds.
12. Consider approval of the following consent
agenda:

Approval of Ricky Moore, License and Weight monthly report .
12.2
Approval of Jack White, Constable Pct #2 monthly report.
12.3
Approval of Eddie Lee, Constable Pct #3 monthly report.
12.4
Approval of Jaime Beene, Constable Pct #4 monthly report.
12.5
Authorizing the payment of the bills.
13. Discussion on budget for the fiscal
year 2010.
