                                                 NOTICE OF MEETING

       NOTICE is hereby given that the Cherokee County Commissioners= Court will meet in Regular Session at 10:00 a.m. on  Tuesday, October 14,  2008 at its regular meeting place in the County Courtroom in the County Courthouse in the City of Rusk, Texas, for the purpose of:

 1.         Call to Order.

 2.         Invocation.

 3.        Consider laying utility lines in each precinct.

 4.        Consider approval of the Sheriff  Department  monthly report.

             5.        Consider permission to obtain bids for four (4) new vehicles for the Sheriff Department.

             6.        Consider approval of Transfer of Hangar #18 from Richard East to Edward  Snider at the Cherokee County Airport.

             7.        Consider bids for Cherokee County annual fuel requirements.

             8.        Review and adopt FEMA Public Assistance Pilot Program for one or more  precincts.

 9.        Consider approval of RFP (Request for Proposal) for debris removal.

10.       Discuss and consider approval between Cherokee County and the Supreme Court of Texas for Support of Continuity of Court Operations in the Event of an emergency.

11.       Consider approval for the agreement with ETMC-Rusk 1 ^st Physician clinic and Cherokee County Health Department to insert/remove IUD and Implanon.

12.       Consider approval to recognize November 2008 as “Home Care and Hospice Month”.

            13.       Consider approval of the renewal of contract between Cherokee County Environmental Service and Cherokee County.

            14.       Consider approval of the 2009 Cherokee County Holidays.

15.      Consider entering into Executive Session in accordance with Sec. 551.072,    to discuss real property.

            16.       Return from Executive Session and vote, if necessary, on discussion.

            17.       Consider approval of the following consent agenda:

                        17.1    Approval of County Auditor Monthly report for September, 2008.

17.2    Approval of  Commissioners’ Court minutes.

17.3    Approval of  Lynn Kelley, Constable Precinct No. 1 monthly report.

17.4    Approval of  Ricky  Moore, License and Weight monthly report.

17.5    Approval of Walker Place Subdivision-plat only.

17.6    Approval of Edwards Farm Road Subdivision – plat only.

17.7    Approval of Gower Place Subdivision – plat only.

17.8    Consider authorizing the payment of the bills.

                        18.       Open forum for concerned citizens to address the court on issues not on the agenda.

19.       Open forum for County Judge and Commissioners.
